The YD Course is an MTO approved, Our Beginner Driver Education Course is designed to empower new drivers with the confidence and skills they need not only to pass their road test but also to enjoy a lifetime of safe driving. This comprehensive 40-hour program, built around our proven Collisionfree! Approach, combines interactive classroom learning with practical, hands-on driving lessons to make the experience engaging, effective, and intuitive.
This program has five components:
1) Theory learning in-person classroom (20 hours)2) eLearning online self-paced (10 hours)3) In-vehicle lessons (10 hours)4) G2 Road Test Package (3 hours)5) G Road Test Package (4.5 hours) NOTE: Does not include G Road Test fee payable to book the G Test.
Students benefit from engaging classroom theory sessions and personalized one-on-one in-vehicle lessons, all taught by provincially licensed instructors who undergo annual re-certification to ensure the highest quality of instruction. Our Road Test Package is designed to set you up for success, offering a comprehensive review lesson, a warm-up drive on test day, and the convenience of using your instructors vehicle. If you prefer to use your own personal vehicle, this option also provides the opportunity for a valuable practice session on or close to the date of your test. This package includes:
*DriveTest not YD collects the fee for your first G2 Road Test ($53.75) when you get your G1 beginner's licence. So this fee is not included in our package. Our G2 Road Test Package is designed to give you every advantage for success. It includes a review lesson the week before your test and a warm-up lesson on the day of your test to boost your confidence and readiness. Your instructor will accompany you to the test, provide the use of their vehicle if desired. With their extensive experience, our instructors are the ideal co-drivers to support you every step of the way
Our G Road Test Package Prep includes a 90-minute G-prep lesson a few days before the test to ensure our students are confident and prepared on road test day include a warm-up lesson and use of the instructor's vehicle for the test if desired.
Throughout the course, students gain valuable insight into why collisions occur and, more importantly, how to prevent them. For over 50 years, YD has been dedicated to empowering new drivers to become confident, responsible, and capable on the roadready to handle real-world situations with skill, being calm and confident. Our exclusive system of 4 Habits and 20 Sub-Habits provides a clear, practical framework that helps students develop safe driving skills for life to prevent any collision they are faced against.
A G1 is not required to begin and students are eligible to enrol 3 months before turning 16.
