Online Course, Guide Session with Live Tutor + Road Test Package with YD Vehicle
The YD Course ONLINE is an MTO approved, beginner driver education course aimed at helping new drivers learn the skills needed to pass their driver's test and stay safe on the roads for a lifetime. This 43.75-hour driving program featuring our Collisionfree! Approach is intuitive, with interactive theory to be completed in scheduled sessions. A live instructor will be available during sessions to answer questions and act as an enabling guide through the content.This program has three components:
1) Theory learning (30 hours)
2) In-car lessons (10 hours)
3) Road test package (3.75 hours)
The private one-on-one in-car lessons are provided by provincially approved, annually re-certified instructors.
Sessions are conveniently scheduled so that students can start the online portion of this course on or soon after registration; a G1 is not required to begin. The online learning modules are designed to help new drivers think like experienced drivers able to identify the problems and solutions needed to avoid each type of collision. It's a way of thinking, presented through animations, text, images and videos that will become habitual over the course of this program.
Throughout the course, each student will learn how collisions happen and how to prevent them. For over 50 years, YD has been committed to helping every student become a responsible, competent driver that knows what to do when the real thing happens. We teach our students our exclusive system of 4 habits and 20 sub-habits.
A G1 is not required to begin and students are eligible to enrol 3 months before turning 16.
*Please note, any licensing fees from the MTO are not covered in the cost of this course. You can reach out to your local DriveTest Centre to pay for your road test fee.
