The YD Course ONLINE Road Test-->Start your self-paced learning up to 3 months before you turn 16. (Note: all course requirements MUST be completed within 1year of start - there are no exceptions! To qualify for the 8month G2 availability and insurance break)The YD Course ONLINE plus Road Test is an MTO approved, Beginner Driver Education course aimed at helping new drivers learn the skills needed to pass their driver's test and stay safe on the roads for a lifetime.
This 43-hour driving program featuring our Collisionfree! Approach is intuitive, with an interactive curriculum and private, 1:1, driving lessons.
This program has 3 components:
1) Online learning modules/CogniFit (30 hours)
2) In-vehicle lessons (10 hours)
3) Road test package (3 hours)
This course is designed to help new drivers think like experienced drivers - aware of potential driving problems and the solutions that will help avoid collisions. This way of thinking is presented using animations, text, images and videos in a way that will build good driving habits. New drivers will be introduced to our exclusive approach to collision-free driving (developed over the past 50 years) specifically designed to help drivers avoid all types of collisions.
The private one-on-one in-vehicle lessons are provided by provincially approved, annually re-certified instructors
Our road test package helps prepare you for your road test with a review lesson, warmup lesson on test day and use of the instructor's vehicle if desired or lesson prior to.
This course includes:
-90 min review lesson (prior to your road test day)
-90 min on your road test day (a short warm-up, check-in at Drive Test, and use of YD training vehicle for your Road Test)
NOTE: Road Test fees payable to Drive Test are NOT INCLUDED.
Throughout the course, students gain valuable insight into why collisions occur and, more importantly, how to prevent them.
