-->Start your self-paced learning up to 3 months before you turn 16. (Note: all course requirements MUST be completed within 1year of start - there are no exceptions! To qualify for the 8month G2 availability and insurance break)-->-->In-vehicle lessons are scheduled based on student and instructor availability, which will be arranged with your instructor. You can expect your in-vehicle lessons to span approximately 4 months to allow regular, guided practice between lessons.

The YD Course is an MTO approved, Our Beginner Driver Education Course is designed to empower new drivers with the confidence and skills they need not only to pass their road test but also to enjoy a lifetime of safe driving. This comprehensive 40-hour program, built around our proven Collisionfree! Approach, combines interactive classroom learning with practical, hands-on driving lessons to make the experience engaging, effective, and intuitive.
The YD Course ONLINE is an MTO approved, Beginner Driver Education course aimed at helping new drivers learn the skills needed to pass their driver's test and stay safe on the roads for a lifetime. This 40-hour driving program featuring our Collisionfree! Approach is intuitive, with an interactive curriculum and private, 1:1, driving lessons.
This program has 2 components:
1) Online learning modules/CogniFit (30 hours)2) In-vehicle lessons (10 hours)
This course is designed to help new drivers develop the mindset of experienced drivers staying aware of potential challenges on the road and knowing the best solutions to avoid collisions. Through engaging animations, text, images, and videos, students build strong, lasting driving habits. Our exclusive Collision-Free Approach, refined over the past 50 years, introduces new drivers to proven strategies that help prevent all types of collisions and promote safe, confident driving for life.
The private one-on-one in-vehicle lessons are provided by provincially approved, annually re-certified instructors.
Students benefit from engaging interactive videos work modules and personalized one-on-one in-vehicle lessons, all taught by provincially licensed instructors who undergo annual re-certification to ensure the highest quality of instruction.
Throughout the course, students gain valuable insight into why collisions occur and, more importantly, how to prevent them. For over 50 years, YD has been dedicated to empowering new drivers to become confident, responsible, and capable on the road ready to handle real-world situations with skill, being calm and confident. Our exclusive system of 4 Habits and 20 Sub-Habits provides a clear, practical framework that helps students develop safe driving skills for life to prevent any collision they could be faced with.
